Little River vineyard thankful for the hot weather

When you think drought and hot weather, you think dead and dying grass and plants. But that's not the case in the wine business.

Grapes thrive on the heat and La Belle Amie owner Vicki Weigle talked with about how this weather is great for her Muscadine grapes and more importantly, for the wine that it becomes! Vicki says that she's only watered the grape vines "maybe twice this season".

Other area farmers on the other hand, llike those that grow soy beans or corn, probably aren't very happy about this weather. Hop on over to to read their write-up.

La Belle Amie also has events all summer long:

  • Wine Wednesday: Wednesday's 1pm-5pm
  • Saturday's Music & Wine @ The Vineyard: Saturday's Noon-4pm
  • Summer Parrot Head Festival: Saturday, July 30th. Noon-5pm
