I stumbled upon this interesting set of photos of 13 Charleston-based C-17s performing a training exercise at an Orangeburg airfield. My favorites were the one above, and this one of the cargo drops. Charleston AFB C-17s fly as part of a 13-aircraft formation training exercise here Dec. 18. The formation flight demonstrated the U.S. Air Force's strategic capability. The training mission included airdrops over North Auxiliary Airfield in Orangeburg, S.C., and aerial refueling training.

Sure, living in Charleston, you see a lot of C-17s overhead, but it's not very often you see so many together.
