The Gibbes is using a grant from the Bank of America to give students of low-income "Title One" schools free access to the museum during field trips.

In order to participate in the "Title One Goes to the Gibbes" program, teachers must partake in arts education workshops at the Gibbes and use their educational online programs.

The Gibbes Executive Director shares his promise in an e-mail:
The Gibbes Museum of Art is committed to developing multi-dimensional education and outreach programs that expand the concept of the museum experience for everyone. Key to this mission is promoting student education through the arts.

Every student deserves a well-rounded education, and the Gibbes Museum along with Bank of America will insure that even financially deficient schools will be able offer their students academic opportunity in the arts.

Come visit the extensive collection at the Gibbes Museum, a Charleston landmark since 1858. It is located at 135 Meeting Street.
