Renting the Memminger Auditorium is about to get pricier

Here's one to file under "Well, that's not going to make things any easier for Charleston's ailing theater scene." Spoleto Festival USA is set to raise the rent on the recently renovated Memminger Auditorium by 30%.

Still, even at the new rates ($800 a night Monday-Thursday) it's quite a bargain.
