Two Columbia record shops call it quits

After decades of service, Columbia's two Sounds Familiar record stores are calling it quits and will close up by the end of February.

In 2000 the store had its most profitable year, but by 2002 it had one of its leas profitable years.

Last year, Charleston's Millennium Music closed its retail shop. And, back in July of 2008, I chatted about how many local shops were hoping that vinyl could be a boon for the industry.
