They guys and gal of DOP are only $410 shy of their $5,000 goal needed to record their second studio album. Read all about the band and the KickStarter project below and make sure to donate here

First Report: Columbia based band Death of Paris has taken to KickStarter to get the funds needed for their second studio album.

Death of Paris (DOP) is a band that TheDigitel has talked about several times and for good reason; they make great music, are super nice people and the two founders, Blake Arambula and Jayna Doyle, are Myrtle Beach natives. The band has taken to KickStarter to get the $5,000 needed to get their album made in a professional sound studio and by a named producers, Kenneth Mount and Zack Odom of ZK Productions; who has produced acts such as Cartel, Jimmy Eat World, Usher, We Are The In Crowd, Fergie, All Time Low, Mayday Parade, Ludacris, and The Ready Set.

From the band:

After 2 years of touring up and down the East Coast to support our 2010 debut album, we set aside our road cases and have spent the past 6 months holed up in our rehearsal space writing. We have fought a long, hard battle with ourselves, each other, and a bullying writers-block. And we've emerged stronger with some of the best new songs we've ever written.

When we started this band in 2009, we abandoned our college degrees to go after what we truly want to do in life - make music and prove to everyone we meet because of it that you don't have to settle for anything in life if you feel you're meant for more.

So far Death of Paris is over 50% of their goal with 18 days left to donate. An impressive amount of money that has already garnered attention from LaunchAndRelease.com, a website that funds musical KickStarter projects and does write-up on successful ones with tips and tricks for musicians. Recently, DOP ht their radar and they were featured in a piece entitled, "Death Of Paris Kickstarter – A Specific Example of Purpose Worth Backing"
