On Wednesday highly coveted parking spots were traded for mobile bike racks and the gals from Homespun Hoops hula hoped out on the sidewalk in front of the Upper Deck Tavern.

The occasion? The Holy City Bike Co-op's first fundraiser of the year. Member Dan Kelley guest bartended, raising tips for the Co-op, while Street Level Labs' laser graffiti and LED throwies provided entertainment.

The fundraising event wrapped up at 10 p.m. as bike enthusiasts gathered outside to turn on their boomboxes for the mystery bike ride's destination of ... the Recovery Room. The event was a huge success and raised more than $300 for the Co-op to purchase much-needed professional grade bike tools for their FREE monthly bike workshops at Marion Square. Bring your bike and check it out sometime.
