Hopes of Peninsula regaining a movie theater dim

A year after the IMAX closed, its former home is looking less likely to resurrect into another movie theater.
The operator of the theater has announced he's looking to have the property rezoned so that it could be used for a wider range of possibilities, including a hotel.
Just what we Peninsulans need, another hotel. Wallow in the pain, and look at all the other movie theaters that have closed.

Update October 29: The Post and Courier reports that the rezoning has gone through. -- But it doesn't look like there are any definite plans to make it into a hotel, yet.
