For the second year, Red’s Ice House will host its annual golf tournament on Monday, November 23, at Patriots Point Golf Links.

The tournament is in support of the Hospitality Heroes Fund. The mission of the Hospitality Heroes Fund is to lend a helping hand to local hospitality employees and their families who are impacted by a medical hardship.

Check out what the press release had to say:

"This year’s golf tournament promises to be a great day for everyone participating, but most importantly it will be a great support system for the food and beverage industry for many years to come,” says Steve Carroll, founding board member of the Hospitality Heroes Fund and general manager of Red’s Ice House.

According to the Center of Business Research of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, more than 30,000 individuals in the Charleston region are employed by the hospitality and tourism industry. Many of these folks working in this economic sector help make Charleston the culinary hotspot that it is today. If they get seriously ill or they or their child experience an extended hospital stay, the hospitality industry continues to thrive. But for the employee who may be un-insured or under-insured, it is tremendously difficult for them to continue living their lives as they knew it. The inability to overcome these struggles can seriously jeopardize the welfare of hospitality employees and their families living right here in our community.
