Charleston Beer Exchange expands, opens new location in Greenville

Everyone's favorite local craft beer mecca has opened a new location in downtown Greenville, SC.

Co-Owners Scott Shor and Rich Carley held the grand opening of their new location last Wednesday with a ribbon cutting by the Mayor of Greenville, Knox White.

When asked why they chose Greenville as their second market, Shor explained "We're very excited to expand into the upstate market.  The Greenville market has been a target market since we opened our Charleston location.  There are people there that are passionate about looking for better beer, and we think the downtown scene is growing and vibrant, and that's where we want to be."

Continuing their main focus of carrying only craft beer, the Greenville location is about 50% larger than the Charleston location, and allows for 16 growler taps and a staggering 1,100+ bottled selections from all over the world.

That's a lot of beer.

But don't feel left out Charleston. Shor explained "While our Charleston location carries around 850 bottled selections and 9 growler taps, it's not that we like Greenville better.  The larger space just allows us to have a more comprehensive selection."

And while shipping is not available from the Greenville location just yet, you can still have beer shipped from the Charleston store, as long as your state allows it.

So on your next road trip passing through the upstate, be sure to swing by and check out their new digs.  It's located at 7 S. Laurens St, in Greenville, 29601, and you can check them out online here, or call them at (864)-232-3533. They also have a Twitter and Facebook page up for the new spot.

And of course you can always hit up the original Charleston Beer Exchange at 14 Exchange St, downtown, or call (843)-577-5446.  Be sure to follow them on Twitter and Facebook as well.
