Charleston one-year alcohol ban for new bars advances
Hoping to address the perceived chaos that Charleston's explosion in bars has brought, city council has passed a first reading of a one-year ban on permits for alcohol between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. on portions of King, Meeting, and Market streets. The ordinance is now in effect.
