Former Terrace Theater owners open new gourmet market (update: expanding)

Update April 21: Owners of Charleston Sweet Gourmet are pleased to announce the opening of their new shop, Market Sweet Gourmet on June 24th.

Market Sweet Gourmet will sell Charleston region confections and nuts and will also carry the new local cookie line by Cobblestone Cookie Co. Additionally, Market Sweet Gourmet will feature Retro candy and oversized chocolates.

The new store is scheduled to open June 24th in the newly renovated Great Hall building of Charleston's City Market.

First reporting: The former owners of the Terrace Theater, Mike Furlinger and John Brieger are proud to announce the Grand Opening of their new venture Charleston Sweet Gourmet.

The Sweet Gourmet is a gourmet market for the home chef. Items include baking ingredients to the finest oils and marinades. Beautiful Godiva Chocolates as well as old fashion candies await you on your visit. The selection is truly unmatched and most items can only be found at the Sweet Gourmet in Charleston. Fresh Caviars flown in from France, Iceland and Spain will also be on hand.

The shop will open this Wednesday, September 1st and is located in the South Windermere shopping center in West Ashley next to Normandy Farms Bakery. Business hours are Sunday to Tuesday 10 am to 6 p.m. and Wednesday to Saturday 10 am to 9 p.m.
