Local restaurants come to the aid of Gulf fisherman

A group of Charleston restaurants have stepped up to the plate by participating in Drink Up/Dine Out for the Gulf, a local fundraising effort to aid gulf fishermen affected by the oil spill.

The fundraising idea came to local art dealer Sean Ferneau and College of Charleston instructor Keira Williams, after a recent trip down to New Orleans. In an effort to help out, the duo enlisted Blind Tiger, Taco Boy, VooDoo, Social Wine Bar, Torch, Madra Rua and other local establishments to host special events throughout the month of July.

Ferneau and Williams hope that the idea catches on quick. If so, they'll be extending the promotions even further.
