Shopping locally in MYR: La Belle Amie Vineyard

Typically when folks think about quality wines, they envision the Napa Valley in northern California and the wineries in France, but believe it or not - we have a vineyard right here in Horry County that produces grapes being used in amazing southern wines.

La Belle Amie vineyard opened in 2000 and is located in Little River, just west of North Myrtle Beach.  Set on 38 acres, the farm has a rich history and was once owned by "Uncle Gifford" who decided to take on his french ancestors' tradition of wine-making.  When he passed, the land went to the current owner's mother.  When she needed care, Vicki decided to make a move and history was made.

Through blood, sweat, tears, hurricanes and lots of advice from the NC State Cooperative Extension Service, a true vineyard was planted and began to grow.  Today, those muscadine grapes find themselves in many varieties of wine offered in the La Belle Amie gift shop

La Belle Amie offers tourswine-tastings and hosts some of the best events throughout the year.  You can keep track of the latest and greatest at the vineyard in the Fans of La Belle Amie group on Facebook
