The new owners of what was once Myrtle Beach's Hard Rock Park were unsuccessful in licensing the Hard Rock brand, and have instead gone with "Freestyle Music Park."

Read more stories on this subject in our Hard Rock Park topic page. It's a name the park will share with a new park being developed for Moscow.

Still, the vision of the park remains much the same, from a press release:

"Freestyle Music Park" is the destination for the celebration of that revolutionary phenomenon rock n' roll but also encompasses other genres of music including country, reggae, beach music, pop, R&B, alternative, Christian, and disco. At Freestyle Music Park, you can indulge your inner "rock star" while enjoying the park's many and excellent rides, shows and other attractions.

The park remains on track for a Memorial Day opening.

You can learn more about the new park at their Web site, or this excellent article from The Myrtle Beach Sun News.
