Wentworth Mansion ranked number 12 hotel in world in Travel + Leisure survey

After being named a top 10 hotel in the U.S. earlier in 2012 by U.S. News and World Report, the Wentworth Mansion in downtown Charleston has been named the number 12 best hotel in the world by Travel + Leisure (T+L).
Results of the seventeenth annual T+L World’s Best Awards readers’ survey were announced today, naming the Wentworth Mansion as “Top Small City Hotel in the Continental U.S.” and number 12 on the T+L 2012 World’s Best Awards list of Top 100 Hotels overall.

In the top 500 category, the Charleston area dominated the list of hotels from South Carolina:
- Inn at Palmetto Bluff, an Auberge Resort (92.80), Bluffton
- Charleston Place (89.87), Charleston
- Planters Inn (88.75), Charleston
- Wentworth Mansion (87.75), Charleston
- Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort (92.10), Kiawah
- Woodlands Inn, A Salamander Resort (89.60), Summerville
