The College of Charleston has announced the brand new "Cougar Shuttle" service - a 14 seat passenger van dedicated to safe transportation for College of Charleston students anywhere on the peninsula.
Here's more from the press release:
The Cougar Shuttle will operate during a 10 week pilot program to see if it answers the safety needs and concerns of you and your fellow students. Cougar Shuttle will travel the peninsula only on Friday and Saturday nights from 11:00 pm until 3:00 am. At this particular time, the shuttle will be free for all CofC students. CofC students will need to only show the driver their school ID. The telephone number that goes to the shuttle driver directly is (888- 960-2227) and the driver will be able to tell you approximately how long it will take him/her to arrive to pick you up. Depending on the night and the need, there could be more than one van operating. Cougar Shuttle is a direct result of the recommendations that were made by the Clean Slate Committee – a group of students that assisted the administration this past summer in seeking new and innovative ways to handle student safety issues on campus.
