CofC outdoor learning site to get updated

Dixie Plantation is great for outdoor learning--expect fo the fact that it doesn't have updated facilities. But all that's about to change.

The plantation has been used by the College of Charleston as a research and learning site for over ten years, and it's finally about to get the update it so sorely needs, thanks to a $1 million grant from the Spaulding-Paolozzi Foundation.

So what will the grant enable CofC to do with the plantation? First off, it will be used to build two field research stations, which will be fully outfitted with bathrooms, wireless Internet access, and more.

The goal is for the stations to be completed and ready to be used within the next two years.

Get more information about how Dixie Plantation is being used and will be used in the future over at The Post and Courier's report here.
