Local retail sales continue to struggle in December

According to an estimate from America's Research Group, December retail sales for Charleston and statewide failed to see an increase.

If you want to get technical, it appears that sales were down about 1.2%. People are still holding on tight to that hard earned loot, but not surprisingly, discount stores like TJ Maxx and Ross had a big boost in patronage.
