RPWB Continues ‘10 Months of Giving’ Campaign with $5k Donation to WINGS for Kids

Richardson, Patrick, Westbrook & Brickman, LLC (RPWB) has awarded $5,000 to WINGS for Kids as part of its ’10 Months of Giving’ Campaign.

The ’10 Months of Giving’ campaign represents an initiative to give $55k to area charities from January through October in 2012 as part of the firm’s 10th anniversary celebration. The charitable gift is from the RPWB Fund of Coastal Community Foundation.

WINGS for Kids, the area nonprofit, is dedicated to teaching children how to behave well, make wise decisions and build healthy relationships. The WINGS for Kids’ program consists of weaving a comprehensive social and emotional learning curriculum into a fresh and fun after-school program. The carefully constructed 15 hour-a-week curriculum incorporates 30 learning objectives into everyday activities to develop self-awareness, relationship skills, social awareness, self-management and responsible decision-making.

“Ten years of helping clients locally and nationwide is a significant milestone for us, and we want to do something that not only celebrates this milestone, but also celebrates our community,” said RPWB Member and Business Manager Jay Ward. “We’re excited to contribute to an important community program, like WINGS.”

As part of the ’10 Months of Giving’ campaign, RPWB donates $5,000 to one local charity monthly through September. In October, community members will have the opportunity to vote on RPWB’s Facebook page for their favorite charity of the nine selected throughout 2012. The charity that receives the most Facebook votes that month will receive an additional $10,000 from RPWB.

Previous recipients of a $5,000 donation were the South Carolina Aquarium, Greater Savannah River Community Foundation, Center for Heirs’ Property Preservation and Share Our Suzy.
