The South Carolina Ports Authority has projected a nearly 20 percent drop in container volume for the upcoming fiscal year. 

Read more stories on this subject in our port topic page.The news is little surprise as the recession and lack of demand for consumer goods is taking a heavy toll on shipping industry across the country, still it's only more bad news for the embattled port.
