Traffic came to a halt on 501 North by the Tanger Outlets in the Carolina Forest area as emergency crews worked to clear a traffic accident involving two vehicles and an 18-wheeler.  The news was devastating when one passenger, local four year-old Jada Bennett, did not survive.

The news has spread like wildfire and there are several efforts to help the family financially, as well as support them with food and Easter baskets for their other two children - one of which is Jada's twin.  MyrtleBeachforFamilies.com has a list being updated as new efforts are announced.  Red Lobster by Coastal Grand Mall is one drop-off site, as this was where Mr. Bennett worked.  Other fundraisers include a zumba class on Saturday and spaghetti dinner on Tuesday.  You can click here for details
