Lee's Landing, Little River, and Carolina Forest will be sprayed for mosquitoes between Monday, September 19th and Friday, September 23rd from 7:00 and 11:00 p.m.

Malathion, the chemical to be used in these aerial sprayings, is EPA-approved and poses a minimal health risk to humans and animals.  According to the WMBF report, if you are concerned or have asthma, remain indoors with the windows and doors of your home shut to avoid exposure.

For more information about preventing and ridding your property of mosquitoes check out this printable brochure on the Horry County government website here.  To learn more about malathion, the chemical used in spraying for mosquitoes, you can click here.
