Conway welcomes CCU students with special Conway Crawl Thursday

Coastal Carolina University classes start today and Conway is set to welcome them back with open arms, and a little party.

Unlike the faster paced, hustle and bustle of Myrtle Beach, Conway's quaint, small town feel of their downtown area remind many CCU students of home. Small town shops and restaurants are all waiting for the influx of college students. Merchants are offering returning CCU students a special CCU Celebration at this Thursday's Conway Crawl.

At the Crawl, sponsored by Conway Downtown Alive, the students will get to hear live music on the Third Avenue stage, see a lineup of their fellow students’ classic cars and be introduced to the area’s merchants.

Besides this special edition of the Conway Crawl, Conway has been reaching out to both colleges' students. Last year they painted both the CCU and HGTC logo on its downtown water tower. This year business owners are talking about extending business hours till 9pm to help draw the kids in.

We couldn't think of a better way to for CCU students to celebrate their first (almost) full week back to the books! Head on over to The Sun News to read their full write-up and read up on how much each college student has to spend monthly after paying for room, board and other occurring fees.
