Lowcountry middle schoolers converge for Lego robot showdown

On Saturday, January 30, some 40 groups of middle schoolers converged on Trident Technical College for the annual FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Lowcountry Regional Qualifier tournament.
Basically you build little automaton LEGO robots that run an obstacle course. Do it well and you'll move up to the state competition at Clemson University on March 6, where 80 teams compete and one will go to the world competition in Atlanta in April.
The Post and Courier was there and has a nice little photo gallery, but as far as I can tell there's no post-event write-up.
There's also a not-so-great video.
