As part of their effort to step up DUI enforcement, the Summerville Police Department had a group of volunteers downing alcohol at their offices one morning at 9 a.m. Police then got to practice sobriety tests on real, drunk people.

Live 5 News has the story along with beer-chugging video.
The program is called DUI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, and has three main training tasks performed by the suspect, which let police look for clues to confirm the driver is breaking the law.

The training for tri-county cops is part of their effort to "blitz" DUI'ers today through September 1.
