Charleston police have arrested the man accused of ripping off jewelery and an iPad from a room at the Charleston Place Hotel last year.

Police spokesman Charles Francis said that John C. Coakley, 35, of Ross Street in North Charleston, has been charged with first-degree burglary in connection with the incident, which took place on January 27, 2012.

Coakley is currently being detained at the Charleston County jail.
