"All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players: They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts,"

Carolina Improv was founded in 2008 by Chicagoan Gina Trimarco here in Myrtle Beach and after jumping around for a year or so from meeting location to meeting location, finally found a home at the Myrtle Beach Mall.

Trimarco studied improv at the famed Second City in Chicago, the Improv troupe that is probably best known for bringing us most of the Saturday Night Live alums. Since 2009 Carolina Improv has grown and offers several classes from beginners to seasoned vets, as well as nightly performances for the public.

This June, Trimarco and Carolina Improv are offering classes to kids in a two week summer course and will, "teach kids how to be positive, listen to others, take risks and work within a team environment. They will learn improv games and be encouraged to use their imaginations as they learn to create characters, build scenes and invent ideas without using props or costumes."

The Improv for Kids summer classes will start on June 18-22 and June 25-29, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Myrtle Beach Mall. Kids ages 7 to 17 are welcome to participate.
