The fledgling event was held at one of the fields of the Crabtree Recreational Center on Saturday, August 14th.

The primary function of the gathering, which was Inspired by the shuttering of the Horry County Arts Council and the Myrtle Beach Pride group, was to form a human version of a rainbow flag, a standard symbol for LGBT rights and equality. Douglas-Hensley Photography (warning: autoplay music) took to the skies in a helicopter to capture the image from above. Amy Vitrano from WBTW has more details including quotes from the event organizer. Read it here.
