R WE WHO WE R to perform at the Halsey Institute

The vocal and electronoic duo, R WE WHO WE R, will present a lecture and a performance at the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art starting at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 11.

Presented by the New Music Collective, Ted Hearne (vocals) and Philip White (electronics) will give a lecture on their work followed by a performance at 9 p.m. R WE WHO WE R is described to "mix the free theft and collage style of digital sampling virtuoso Girl Talk with the raw noise of Japanese artist Merzbow," and uses pop hits from superstars like Ke$ha and Madonna to create a unique, unheard of sound which ultimately hooks listeners.
