Bike Charleston: Come on out for a bike ride and connect with other cyclists

This post has two pitches in it.

First: you can come on out on Saturday, December 19, at 8 a.m. for a bike ride from James Island to Folly while making some pit stops to check out the scenic view. Here's more details on that.

Second: I learned about this thanks to the Web site Bike Charleston. It's a relative newcomer to Charleston's online scene and seems to be a great way to keep up with local bike groups, what's happening in town, and upcoming bike events.

Here's what they have to say for themselves.

Bike Charleston is a website for all things biking in Charleston.  If you want to know about anything related to bikes, whether it be where to buy a great beach cruiser, what the City has planned for bike lane improvements, or when the next 100-mile ride is, this site is for you.

Bike Charleston is a group comprised of many, working together to encourage the biking lifestyle, create a more bike-friendly City and educate the public about bicycle safety.  We also put on some really fun events!

In the bike-ified words of Booker T Washington "We are separate as the spokes yet one as the wheel," so take a look at all the great bike organizations and businesses in the Charleston Metro Area and find one that works for you. Click each one to learn more.

Go check out the blog over here, or just dive into their event calendar.
