The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce has embarked on a new 60 Miles in 60 Days campaign to entice tourists to visit sites throughout the Grand Strand.  What's in it for locals?  Discounts and giveaways.

If you're a pinner, there is a pin-to-win contest on Pinterest, where you can create a pin board titled “Myrtle Beach Dream Vacation,” pinning at least eight attractions from the 60 secrets to their board and adding the hashtag #MYRDreamVacation to each.  To learn more about the contest, rules, and prizes, have a look here.

If you're up for taking a weekend and touring our town(s), the site offers suggested itineraries, including: Classic Grand Strand, Foodie Finds, Hands-On Highlights, Outdoor Adventures, The Historic and the Haunted, and Wildlife Wonders.  Some of the "best kept secrets" include Ripley's Aquarium and Brookgreen Gardens, which you may have already checked off your list.  But have you ever seen historic submarines and shipwrecks while scuba diving at Murrells Inlet?

Last, you can check out a pretty nice list of area deals and discounts.  Scroll through all of the hotels (unless you're thinking of staycating), and you'll see attractions and restaurants.  Had you been thinking about going to see Medieval Times, where Josh Knowles, winner of the History Channel's Full Metal Jousting competition, still performs?  They're offering two tickets for $60.  Want to take the kids to WonderWorks?  They'll give you 60% off every third ticket.
