Helping to add a bit of green to the College of Charleston's maroon, the Green Street Fair introduced students and locals to many of the area's green options.

Green FairGo get lots more images from the festivities on our photo page. Folks were there to talk about so-called clean coal, the need for open space, how to recycle, how to eat sustainably and more.

I could blather on more about it, and if you want words check out our preview of the event and ABC News 4's write-up. But the best way to get a feel for it is just to check out our photo gallery.

Oh, and be sure to check out the "Liquid for Life" student sculpture. If you're wondering "why?" It turns out the original idea was flat palmetto tree, and as Zack Mallard said, "I suggested it more as an oposition to the palmetto tree idea."

If there's one thing this town can forgo is another piece of palmetto tree art.
