Keep Charleston Beautiful and Friends of Keep Charleston Beautiful are pleased to announce the 8th Annual Green and Lean 5K road race on Saturday, June 1st!

The Green and Lean 5K raises funds for litter prevention programs and community cleanups and beautification efforts.

This event brings together two organizations that take great strides to make the Lowcountry a better place to live. The City of  Charleston’s Keep Charleston Beautiful is dedicated to promoting the cleanliness and beautification of Charleston through education, public awareness, and community involvement. Founded in 1977, Keep Charleston Beautiful works with local schools, businesses, and organizations to educate the community on the importance of waste responsibility and living a litter-free life.

Friends of Keep Charleston Beautiful is a non-profit organization that financially supports Keep Charleston Beautiful’s programs and projects in an effort to further its mission of a clean and litter-free Charleston.  

Race Course: This USA TF certified 5K begins at Brittlebank Park, passes by The Citadel campus, circles around beautiful Hampton Park and concludes back at Brittlebank Park.
Clara’s Tot-Trots: a 50 yard dash in Brittlebank Park for children ages 2-5yrs and a π mile dash for ages 6-10yrs.

Registration: Received on or before May 29:  Individuals- $20; Students grades 12 and under- $10; Fire, Police, and Military in uniform- $10 day of;  Team registration (5 or more) - $15/person; Clara’s Tot-Trot- $10 6-10yrs, *under 5yrs run free.
All registrations received after May 29 are $25.

Awards:  Cash awards will be given to the top overall M/F winners. Awards will be given to the overall 2nd & 3rd M/F winners. Age group medals will be given to the top three M/F winners. Prizes will be given to 1st dog and 1st stroller to finish.

Silent Auction: Before and after the race, you will have the opportunity to bid on a variety of goods and services from local venders including a bike from Affordabike and an Ivy Rain Barrel.
