The Spoleto and Piccolo Spoleto performances have kicked into high gear, but don't for one second think that's all the fun that's happening in Charleston this weekend.

For continuing Spoleto Festival USA buzz, click here. We've also got your connections to what you need to know about Piccolo Spoleto and Spoleto Fringe.

If you're Spoleto-ed out and are looking for something more, read on.

Enjoy America's favorite pastime at The Joe both Friday and Saturday nights as the RiverDogs close out their four-game homestand against the Rome Braves. In other sporting news, this Saturday is the Floppin’ Flounder 5K Run/Walk on Sullivan's Island and the Green and Lean 5K Run/Walk in the Hampton Park area. Also, for all the ladies out there, Charleston Krav Maga is offering a free self-defense seminar.

If you're looking for some free fun this weekend, you're also in luck. There are chances for free donuts, free TCBY frozen yogurt, a free art walk (with booze) through downtown Charleston's galleries, and free Music On The Green at Freshfields Village.

The third Art For Charity event is taking place on Friday night at the Michael Mitchell Gallery. Proceeds from this weekend's event will be given to the Roper St. Francis Ryan White Program.

On Saturday, 30,000 rubber ducks will be dropped from the Mark Clark bridge into the Wando River, then race to the finish line at Daniel Island Waterfront Park and Community Pier during The Rotary Club of Daniel Island's fourth annual charity duck race.

The Jazz Artists of Charleston continue their 14-night jazz series Upstairs at McCrady's all weekend long. Tasty food, delicious drinks, and smooth jazz. Now that's what's up.

Wrangle up your best gaggle of gays and head out to Folly Beach on Saturday for the eighth annual Big Gay Beach Day

There's a Style Storm brewing out in North Charleston. Local clothing, jewelry, and homeware designers will be showing off their goods at The Meeting Place. Expect some awesome vintage jewelry and clothing as well.

  • There's even more where this came from posted on our complete Event Calendar. Be sure to check it out. The Charleston City Paper's weekend round-up is out as well; go take a look.
