This weekend is going to filled with bagpipes, bulls, bounce castles and Peace Festivals.

Bagpipes? That's right, this Saturday is the return of the Charleston Scottish Games and Highland Gathering at Boone Hall Plantation. This all day event features athletes (in kilts) participating in traditional Scottish games such as the sheaf toss, the stone of strength competition and the caber toss. There will be delicious Scottish food, live music, a Border Collie demonstration and much much more.

This Sunday marks the 3rd Annual Charleston Peace One Day Festival put on to increase awareness during the International Day of Peace and Ceasefire and highlight peace-building initiatives that are going on throughout the year in South Carolina. Bring your friends and family out to North Charleston's Riverfront Park from noon until 7 p.m. to help celebrate.

Don't forget that Studio PS, Charleston's newest theatre and community enterprise central will be hosting it’s first multi-genre art exhibition, the ASAP and Block Party, which will benefit the Sanders-Clyde Elementary/Middle School art and drama program. The exhibition will include more than 40 works in painting, graffiti, drawing, sculpture and photography by over a dozen emerging and established artists. The exhibition will also include DJs, MCs, dancers, drummers and other performing artists. Vendors will be selling a variety of items including: jewelry, clothing, natural soaps, hand crafted incense and more.

The Lowcountry HighRollers roller derby team is putting their own spin on the annual Running of the Bulls event and doing it Folly Beach style. Derby girls will be coming after runners with bull horns and whiffle ball bats, but hey, it's all for a good cause! Donations will be forwarded to to the Folly Beach Relief Fund and Surfers' Healing program.

The County Parks are doing it big this weekend with three cool events: the final concert of the Reggae Summer Concert Series, the "Jump in the Park" bounce castle extravaganza, and a free outdoor showing of the classic film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Those are big hitters coming up this weekend, but to scope out all the event we think are noteworthy, check out our complete Events Calendar. You can also take a look at the Charleston City Paper's weekend round-up for more weekend goodness.
