Update November 2, 2012: Today is opening day for Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland.

We can't give them too much grief for rushing the holiday season since the Carolina Opry's Christmas Special has been in full swing since yesterday, the Palace Theatre's Christmas on Ice show also begins today, and so does the Alabama Theatre Christmas Show.

Thanksgiving Schmanksgiving.

Update October 10, 2012:  According to the official Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland website, the Myrtle Beach location at the Pelicans' TicketReturn.com field is confirmed for the 2012 holiday season.

Opening day for the attraction is Friday, November 2, 2012.  Yes, that's early but don't judge.  It's been Christmas in Kroger and other retailers for weeks now.

The lights will do their synchronized dance to holiday tunes through Sunday, January 6, 2013 and the $25.50 admission per carload remains the same. You can check out a review of last year's show over at MyrtleBeachforFamilies.com.

First report July 21, 2012:  Last year, TicketReturn.com Field (aka Pelican's stadium) lit up during the holiday season as it played host to Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland.  Contract negotiations have begun to bring it back in 2012.

The LED light show filled with scenes and shapes, synchronized to music that plays through your car's speakers helps offset operational and maintenance costs.  You can read more about the impact a rental situation like Shadrack's means to the stadium's bottom line in this WMBF story.
