Hey foodies, did you know there was a culinary aspect to the MOJA Festival? Well, there is, so come out this weekend and experience the Heritage of Home Cookin' event in Hampton Park.

It's actually part of Heritage Day, which according to the Festival's official website will feature:

Day-long activities featuring live entertainment showcasing local and regional talent, African, African-American and Caribbean vendors marketplace with ethnic foods, international crafts; storytelling and Swahili workshops; a major Health & Wellness Fair that includes panel discussions, on-sight screenings and information and Youth On View featuring Praise Dance groups and mimes and The Center for Heirs’ Property and Preservation’s The Heritage of Home Cookin’

From 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, locals will be cooking up their best BBQ pork and chicken recipes, sides, and desserts.

It's just $10 to get down on the food, and all proceeds will go toward The Center for Heirs' Property Preservation which provides free education and legal services to property owners. Enjoying the other events in Hampton Park is free.

Hat tip to Charleston Scene for picking up on this one.
