Update May 12:
Eye Level Art has released a preview of the paintings that will be on display during for Fletcher Crossman's State of Shock exhibition.
Go have a look, and be sure you come out to the 103 Gallery for the opening reception on Friday evening.
Also, the Charleston City Paper has added an extended preview of the show.
Imagine a time in which President Barack Obama has been assassinated. Now imagine the anger and violent responses to such an event, if it were to happen.
This is the mindset that artist Fletcher Crossman wrapped himself in while creating his pieces for Eye Level Art's newest exhibition, State of Shock. State of Shock is a radically different type of exhibition than what Charleston audiences are used to, which may be the most exciting aspect of the show.
Both the artist and the gallery are keen to emphasize that the exhibit is not politically motivated, but is rather a call for temperance in our speech and actions.
The opening reception is at 6 p.m. on May 14th at Eye Level Art's 103 Gallery and the theme of political anger will be continued in a panel discussion taking place at the gallery at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2nd. Both events are free and open to the public.
