Aspiring runway models: It's your last chance to try for Fashion Week

This Saturday, December 13, is the last model call for leggy candidates to strut their stuff in front of the judges for the 2009 Charleston Fashion Week event. And the judges expect nothing less than Bryant Park material. So come prepared to be fierce!

Style editor for Charleston magazine, Ayoka Lucas, reminds both guys and gals planning to try out "I think it’s really important to understand the difference between print and runway. With runway you can be gorgeous but still have to have a strong walk! The models are the superstars of the week next to the fashion!!!"

And don’t come in flip flops, reminds Megan Casey, CFW’s runway coordinator. The judges are looking for attitude and confidence. They suggest watching runway videos on Style.com before showing up to strut your stuff on the mock runway.

For the model casting in November over 250 model hopefuls traveled from all over the tri-state area. Some even came in groups that were bussed in from out of state! The chance to participate in Charleston Fashion Week is huge in regards to exposure and networking for aspiring models. One of last year’s models, Clark Gilmer, made it all the way to America’s Next Top Model TV show.

If modeling is not your thing, but socialite-ing is, CFW is also looking for event volunteers. Sign up now!
