CCU's Pop 101 presents Motown Tribute concert

Coastal Carolina University's Pop 101 student musical group will pay tribute to the sounds of Motown at its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 25, in Wheelwright Auditorium.

The group will perform songs made famous by the Supremes, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder and others.

POP 101 is the University's contemporary ensemble, directed by Dan O'Reilly, instructor of music. The dynamic group performs popular music in a rock band context, and includes students who play guitar, bass drums, keyboard and horns, as well as vocalists.

General admission is $9; seniors and alumni, $7; CCU and Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) students, one $3 ticket per valid ID; CCU and HGTC faculty and staff, two $3 tickets per valid ID; teens (ages 11 to 17), $3; and children are free.

Tickets for the performance may be picked up from the Wheelwright Box Office from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or prior to the performance. For more information, call 843-349-2502.
