The Girls Rock Camp is coming to Charleston in July, and both camp organizers and local girls have a lot to look forward to--but there's still some fundraising to be done.

From noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 11th, the next Girls Rock fundraiser, Girl Summer Festival, will take place at the Pour House (1977 Maybank Highway). The festival will feature live entertainment provided by local musicians including Cary Ann Hearst and Holler, live screen printing, face-painting, a watermelon seed spitting contest, some delicious frosty treats perfect for the summer heat, a raffle for a free massage, and more. And all for the suggested donation price of $5.

But what exactly is the festival benefitting? None other than the Girls Rock Charleston camp, which is coming to the Lowcountry in July. The camp's mission is to encourage young girls to express themselves through music.

If you're interested in learning more about the camp, come on out to the Pour House this weekend, call (843) 425-0566, or visit the organization's website at www.girlsrockcharleston.org.
