The Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art will be hosting the 26th Annual Young Contemporaries, a juried student art exhibition, from April 1st through April 26th.

This year’s exhibition juror is Amy Mackie, Director of Visual Arts at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, LA. The exhibition, along with the concurrent “Salon des Refusés” exhibition, will open with a reception and awards ceremony on Thursday, March 31st, from 5 to 7 p.m. This year's show is co-produced by the Halsey Institute, the Studio Art Department, and Visual Arts Club at the College of Charleston.

The annual Young Contemporaries exhibition is an opportunity for CofC students to submit recent work into the show, giving them an opportunity to have their work chosen by an outside curator and exhibited in a professional gallery setting. Works are available for sale at the discretion of the artist, offering the community a great opportunity to purchase artwork by young, emerging artists.

The event is free and open to the public, so mark you calendars for an evening of impressive art.
