Horry County Museum will be hosting "New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music", a Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition that explores the evolution of modern American music. The exhibit starts Saturday, June 4th and runs until July 17th.

The Horry County Museum is open and free to the public on Tuesdays through Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They have a lot more information about the exhibit on their website. Read it here.

Horry County is the second stop for the exhibit's nearly year long tour of South Carolina. The entire thing is an impressive collaboration between the Smithsonian Museum on Main Street project,  the Humanities Council, and their sponsors.
