Local photographers invited out to monthly group get-together

The 2nd Wednesday of the month is popular with more than 250 members of the Charleston  21st Century Photography Group. The monthly dinner meeting includes a photo show and tell, exchange of technical information and camera tips and lots of socializing.

Next week - February 9th - there will be a special hands-on demonstration of photo studio lighting at the 7 p.m. meeting across from Northwoods Mall at North Towne Grill (Greek) restaurant.

"The group was formed in February 2008 so we just turned three years old," said Chuck Boyd, the group's founder. "Meeting attendance ranges from 20-50 members and the Show & Tell optional theme this month is "Love is..." Boyd added.

"The restaurant has provided us a great separate meeting space in the back in return for members spending a $10 minimum for drinks and food. It's perfect for face-to-face discussions and we can dim the lights for our photo presentations," said Boyd.

If you have a camera - or are thinking of getting one - this is a good group of people to know.
