Beginning on October 23, the Gibbes Museum of Art will open a new exhibit consisting of 40 black and white photographs taken around 25 years ago on Daufuskie Island.
The isolated island near Hilton Head was once home to a special sort of Geecgee history, language, and culture, but outside influences have slowly trickled in.
Hop over to The Post and Courier's article on the upcoming exhibit to take a peek at some photos and learn about Dafuskie Island's curious history.
