Charleston Ballet Theatre's Resident Choreographer Jill Eathorne Bahr has created "The Magical Mystery Tour" to honor The Beatles.

Here's a bit about it from the press release:

The Magical Mystery Tour opens Jan. 23rd at the Black Box Theatre. Inspired by the Masterworks of The Beatles, this innovative interpretation of the lyrics and settings of the legendary band's catalogue features a celebration in dance of rock n' roll classics from the tribal energy of "Lady Madonna" to the haunting beauty of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", the simplicity of "Penny Lane" and the dreamy escape of "Yellow Submarine". ...

Sunday Jan. 25th at 4:30pm following the closing matinee performance, ticket holders are invited to a reception at The John M Dunnan Galleries at 121 Church St. With light hors d'oeuvres & libations, the event will also feature works of Mr. Dunnan inspired by CBT Dance Company members Nicole Harden and Trey Mauldwin who will pose for Mr. Dunnan in a series that will be for sale at the reception with a portion of proceeds to benefit CBT.

And the Upper King Design District is putting on a "Magical Mystery Stroll" to complement the show. From a press release:

Stroll the Upper King Design District on Friday, January 23rd from 6:00-7:30 while our stores, restaurants and hotels have a Magical Mystery Stroll to celebrate the Charleston Ballet Theatre's performance of Magical Mystery Tour. There will be events and refreshments in the stores, special food and beverage surprises at the restaurants and a great evening of fun and entertainment at The Charleston Ballet following the Stroll.

The show runs Friday, January 23, through Sunday January 25.

Tickets to the show run $30 ($15 for children and students) and can be bought online or at the Black Box Theatre (843) 723-7334.

The show will be at The Black Box Theatre, which is at 477 King Street.
