First reporting:

Break out your clubbing clothes and get excited people, Market Street is soon to be home to Charleston's newest upscale dance lounge NV.

The place is still under construction, but the official soft opening of the new club is set for this Thursday, March 11th and is invite only. NV will open its doors to everyone on Friday, March 12th and it is going to be big. NV is located on the upstairs level of Henry's House and occupies a sprawling indoor and outdoor space. NV touts a private room for parties, and indoor/outdoor bar, a dance floor, coat check with yet another bar and a VIP section.

The owners of NV are pulling out all the stops. The exposed brick walls and dark wood interior of the club brings an air of exclusivity and sophistication to the place even in the daytime. When I was offered a preview of the place, the guys installing the sound system, veterans in this old bar town, said that it is going to be the loudest place in Charleston. The world class sound and lights will highlight DJs like NV's resident Natty Heavy as well as international acts who will be banging out beats on a nightly basis.

From what I've heard, NV is going to cater to all crowds. This is a rarity in Charleston where most new bars tends to get locked into a daily routine of either pleasing the Croakie crowd, the underage crowd, or the hipster crowd. From what I've gathered, NV will host a college night where 18+ is welcome, a ladies night, live drag shows every Thursday, and they've even put out a casting call for go-go dancers.

Follow @NVCHS on Twitter to see what they're up to.

Get ready to get down at NV, located at 54 N. Market Street. For some behind the scenes shots of NV under construction, check out our Flickr photo set by clicking here.

Update March 9:

We've just received the official press release regarding NV and wanted to pass it along to you fine folks.

Here it is:

In 1930, Henry’s House has set the standard for bars & restaurants on Market st. In March 2010 Henry’s House presents NV Dance Lounge and therefore sets a new standard in night life for Downtown Charleston. Critics may believe that it is risky to open a new business despite these tough economic times; however the Henry’s team at NV has something different that Low country party-goers have yet to see.

The 3,000 sq. ft of NV holds an indoor/outdoor bar, deck seating, large dance floor w/ world class sound & lighting, available VIP sections w/ bottle service and the Owner's Lounge private VIP section. Shiny disco balls illuminate the dance floor while world-class DJs and national acts grace the stage and DJ booth every weekend.

NV Dance Lounge is the only true VIP experience downtown, borrowing ideas from major markets such as New York and Los Angeles but adding a historic, vintage Charleston twist. A red carpet is awaiting stilettos and velvet ropes are ready to part for the A-List clientele NV will undoubtedly attract.

NV Dance Lounge is now booking VIP and private parties, along with private memberships.
