Program aimed at women in the IT field on the horizon

The College of Charleston in partnership with the Center for Women present 'Women in Technology: Making Your Mark in the IT Industry' on Thursday, August 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Here is what is in store:

The program will include the viewing of an MIT Enterprise Forum video from Technology Review’s EmTech08 Conference featuring successful female entrepreneurs in the industry with companies such as ZipCar, GoLoco, Ziggs.com and Daily Grommet. The forum will also explore the realities of being a female in the IT industry with a local panel of industry leaders and educators including: Nancy Sansom (BenefitFocus), Mary Graves (Scientific Research Corp), Amy Patterson (Blackbaud), Christine Moore (College of Charleston) and Moderators Amy Davis and Laquita Blockson (College of Charleston).

Our local panel of industry leaders will share with you their unique approaches to surviving in the IT industry by using innovation to market and launch new products, implement and integrate new systems and research new technology. The program will conclude with networking offering you a chance to meet your fellow peers, create and collaborate together on potential projects.

The program is $20 to attend, lunch included. The event will be held at the Tate Center for Entrepreneurship, located at 5 Liberty Street. Register online.
