Mixson, a blossoming community in the historic Park Circle neighborhood, continues to set the standard for convenient, urban living with the opening of Mixson Market.
Slated to debut on October 12, Mixson Marketwill be the first shop of its kind in the area, featuring gourmet coffee, artisanal sandwiches, craft beer and select wine as well as creative housewares and gifts.
“Mixson Market introduces a centrally located resource for quality provisions in Park Circle,” said Michael Phillips, chief operating officer of Jamestown. "This represents a vital next step in developing the Mixson community, and we are excited to open a marketplace stocked with select artisanal goods and culinary finds from the Lowcountry and beyond. Indoor and outdoor café seating is available at the Market; we also encourage guests to grab a salad, cup of coffee or ice cream and head out to the bocce court or dog park.”
Mixson Market will stock everything from pet supplies to bicycle wine caddies, vintage cookbooks and artisan kitchenware. The pantry section will specialize in local items including Callie’s Biscuits, Caw Caw Creek pork products, Charleston Bloody Mary Mix, produce from GrowFood Carolina, Keegan Filion chickens, King of Pops popsicles, Magnolias Grits, Sweeteeth Chocolates and Rio Bertolini’s pasta. Coffee lovers will enjoy fine products from Counter Culture, while a growler station for craft beer and wine – the first to open in Charleston - and a full wine retail section will appeal those looking for more adult beverages.
Beyond the bevy of provisions, Mixson Market will offer a gourmet selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner selections - from gRAWnola at breakfast to a Dagwood-style signature sammy stacked with sopressata, prosciutto and coppa, Thomasville Tomme cheese and wholegrain mustard for lunch. Packing a picnic is easy, too, with selections from the pickled, cured and cultured section of the menu (platters are available for rental).
Mixson Market will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily and is located at 4338 McCarthy Street in North Charleston.
